(NASDAQ:AMZN) announced that the Registration Statement on Form S-3, previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to register the 4 3/4% Convertible Subordinated Notes and the underlying common stock of Amazon.com into which the notes are convertible, was declared effective on May 18, 1999.
